Ron Block, Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, Sunrise
A Past President of the Rotary Club of Newbury Park, Ron has held a variety of positions at the District level, including Grants Chair, International Chair, Assistant Governor and he and his wife are major donors to The Rotary Foundation.
During his career as a Vice President of a major International Corporation and his 25 years of entrepreneurial success as a partner, with his wife, in an international import and distribution business, Ron held a number of Board positions for non-profits and both business and residential HOA’s.
His idea for the development of the Rotary DreamCatcher playground, and its subsequent partnership with Conejo Recreation and Parks, initiated the project. He brings management, marketing and infrastructural development skills to our Board of Advisors.
Jim Friedl, Conejo Park and Recreation District
Jim is the General Manager of Conejo Park and Recreation District. He currently serves on the legislative committee of the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts and is a Certified Special District Administrator through the California Special District’s Association.
Formerly, Jim was an attorney for the City of Thousand Oaks, and subsequently moved into public administration as a Deputy City Manager for the City. Throughout his life, Jim has been involved in numerous non-profit and community-based organizations.
Evie Green, Rotary Club of Westlake Sunrise
Evie spent many years in the investment community before founding The Aging Connection, a non profit organization established to provide services to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and provide caregiver relief for their families.
She served as president of the Rotary Club of Westlake Sunrise and as District Assistant Governor; InterCountry Committee Coordinator/Honduras; Chair, Group 4 District Assembly; and chaired a Host Hospitality event at the Reagan Library for Rotary International’s Convention.
Cecelia Laufenberg. Conejo Recreation & Park District
Cecilia Laufenberg has supervised the CRPD -Therapeutic Recreation services for over 20 years. The Therapeutic Recreation Unit provides programs, supports and services so that individuals with disabilities of all ages can successfully engage in public recreation and social programs. Cecilia is a certified Recreation Therapist and has two children, one of whom is a teen with autism.
Patrick Miller, CBC Federal Credit Union
Patrick has 25 years of financial services experience and is currently President of CBC Federal Credit Union. He was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to serve on the State Council on Developmental Disabilities — Central Coast Regional Advisory Committee where he was elected Chairman. He is a member of the Camarillo Health Care District Administrative Community Leaders Advisory Panel, as well as serving as the Vice Chairman for the Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Newbury Park and currently serves on their Board of Directors.
